Five ways to help.
The form our help takes depends on what the family and its office need. Sometimes a second opinion is enough. Sometimes a partner has to work inside the structure until the work is done.
Five ways we help.
We advise
A second opinion before a decision, or the review of a structure, a team or a portfolio. We say what we see, in writing if the family wants it, and the decision stays with the family.
We step in
A partner works inside the structure: leading a project the office has no time for, or holding a seat on an interim basis, chief executive included, until the work is done. Then we hand it back.
We represent
A partner sits on the board of the family office or on its investment committee on the family's behalf, or chairs the family council as an independent. We discuss in a first conversation which partner fits the seat.
We facilitate
Family governance, a succession, the handover of an office or a business. We act as an independent voice that all family members can trust, and keep the conversation on the decisions that need taking.
We find the right people
When the family does not yet have the people it needs, we introduce them from the partners' network: a trustee, a lawyer, a banker, an executive search firm. We take no fee from anyone we introduce.
Alongside your advisers.
We complete the team. We do not replace it. The family's lawyers, bankers, trustees and accountants keep their mandates: we work with them, and often bring them work.
Working with the family's advisersWho does the work.
One partner leads each piece of work and does it; the rest of the partnership reviews each step. Our partners have worked for families from inside their family office, as an executive, an adviser or a board member.
